- ⅔ cup icing sugar

How to Make 3-Ingredient Christmas Shortbread
1. Cream the Butter and Icing Sugar
Preheat your oven to 160°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
Add the softened butter and icing sugar to a large bowl. Beat together until light, smooth and creamy.
2. Add the Flour
Gradually add the plain flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Be careful not to overmix. You want the dough to come together without becoming tough.
If the dough feels a little crumbly, gently knead it together with your hands.
3. Roll and Cut
Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough out to approximately 1cm thick.
Use your favourite Christmas cookie cutters to cut out festive shapes. Christmas trees, stars, snowflakes and gingerbread-style shapes all work beautifully.
Carefully transfer the shortbread shapes to your prepared baking tray, leaving a little space between each one.
4. Bake
Bake for approximately 15–20 minutes, or until the shortbread is lightly golden around the edges.

5. Cool and Decorate
Allow the shortbread to cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
